Aniko GLAM Chicago 2008

Aniko Salon and Spa presents the first annual Aniko GLAM Chicago
event to be held on Thursday August 21, 2008 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. to benefit
the Chicago Fashion Foundation.
Please join the Aniko Salon stylist team as they glamorize models with hair
design and makeup while the models are fully transformed with body painting
provided by Mario Ink.

Anna Cashman

Anamaria Cashman is Assistant Counsel at Playboy Enterprises, Inc.  She manages Playboy's intellectual property protection group and is responsible for the protection of the company's extensive trademark, domain name and copyright portfolio; including management of Playboy's worldwide anti-counterfeiting program and overseeing the prosecution and maintenance of Playboy's trademark portfolio.

Stacie Hartman
Partner at Schiff Hardin, LLP, she has litigated cases involving intellectual property issues, such as trade dress infringement and
non-compete covenants, as well as other complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts.

A COLORFUL EVENING WITH MARGARET WALCH

When: Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005

Chicago Fashion Foundation in conjunction with Fashion Focus Chicago presented an enlightening and entertaining look at Color Forecasting. Ms. Walch discussed the importance of trends, and the role of color forecasting, as it relates to independent design. From the haute couture runways to your living room wallpaper, color forecasting drives the color of sweater you're wearing and the car you are driving.

A world renowned expert on color and trend forecasting, Margaret Walch is Director of The Color Association of the US (CAUS), the oldest and most respected color forecasting company in the United States. Ms. Walch leads seasonal forecasting sessions that chart color taste for the American fashion and interior design industries.

 

CONVERSATION WITH ALEXANDER JULIAN

When: Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005
Where: W Chicago - City Center 172 West Adams Street

Alexander Julian, an innovative designer and colorist, discussed his journey through design from menswear to home furnishings and decorating products. Julian established himself as a pioneer in introducing color to menswear with his renowned sportswear collection, "Colours by Alexander Julian," and was the first American clothing designer to create his own exclusive fabrics. Examples of Julian's work are in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian's National Museum of Design, a testament to his industry influence.

The Chicago Fashion Foundation hosts first annual Shop For a Cure™ Winter Wonderland's Fashion Show

At Winter Wonderland Fashion Show there were approximately 200 fashion, beauty, art, and jewelry vendors selling their merchandise to the media and to other VIP guests. Attendees were asked to bring an article of clothing, for donation to a local clothing drive.

The fashion show included only designers participating in the event - B-Vain Couture, K-Amato, etc. The clothing/accessories were modeled by a mix of professional models and "ordinary people." The "ordinary people" included members of Gilda's Club Chicago: cancer patients and survivors of all ages. More Information: http://shop4acure.org

Pilsner Urquell Showcase, "The Velvet Revolution"

On November 17th, 1989, in Prague, Czechoslovakia, a non-violent political movement led by independent artists overthrew a communist regime that had repressed their freedom and creativity for over 80 years. That movement came to be known as The Velvet Revolution.

This fall, Pilsner Urquell has asked five independent creative revolutionaries here in Chicago to recreate the spirit of The Velvet Revolution.

 

Chicago Fashion Foundation in conjuction with Spike Heel and Pilsner Urquell presented "Golden."

Innies & Outies includes paintings by Peter Drake, sculptures in paper-mache and bronze by Adam Kurtzman, and photographs by Marischa Slusarski / Claire Barron. The works featured in this exhibition explored aspects of the carnivalesque.
